China 'monitored' US bombers in new air zone

The air zone covers a group of disputed islands controlled by Japan

China monitored the flight of two US bombers that flew across its newly-declared "air defence identification zone", its defence ministry said.

The B-52 planes flew over disputed islands in the East China Sea on Tuesday without announcing themselves, defying new Chinese air defence rules.
China's ministry said it had "the ability to effectively manage and control the relevant air zone".
Japan and the US are strongly opposed to the air zone declared by China.
The US said it had followed "normal procedures" during the bombers' flight and had not filed flight plans with China.
China announced the establishment of the "air defence identification zone" on Saturday, and said aircraft passing through the zone must obey its rules, including identifying themselves, or face "emergency defensive measures".
However, Wednesday's defence ministry statement made no reference to any emergency measures.

Chinese officials say they intend to land the country's first unmanned probe on the Moon next month.

The probe has been named Yutu or "Jade Rabbit", after the character that Chinese folklore says lives on the Moon's surface.
In recent years, China has made considerable progress in its space programme.
In June, three Chinese astronauts spent 15 days in orbit and docked their craft with an experimental space laboratory.
In 2007, the country despatched an unmanned spacecraft called Chang'e to orbit the Moon.
The craft stayed in space for 16 months before being intentionally crashed on to the Moon's surface.
A specific date for the latest launch, first announced in August, has not been given but officials said on Tuesday that it would happen in early December.
If all goes according to plan, the lunar probe will land on the Moon sometime in the middle of the month.
A landing vehicle will carry the rover, which will explore an area called the Bay of Rainbows, surveying the surface over three months.
The name Jade Rabbit was chosen after an online poll in which millions took part.
China sent its first astronaut into space in 2003, becoming the third country after Russia and the United States to achieve manned space travel independently.
The military-backed space programme is a source of national pride.
China is one of only three countries to have managed to independently send humans into space, the others being Russia and the US.

Abdirizak Mouled: 24 years old from Ontario Canada The list shows that only one attacker was Kenyan or bred in Kenya, the rest having graduated from Al Shabbaab’s foreign Universities. If this list is to be taken seriously, Kenya’s war of aggression on Somalia to wipe out Al-shabbaab was hopeless to say the least. The list shows that Al-Shabbaab has an international Network of terrorists waiting to be deployed at any time to spill blood, murder and destroy property. A new question which emerges is how all these terrorists entered Kenya without detection, given the billions of Kenyan shillings pumped into NISI, the spy Agency, to prevent unwanted or dangerous persons from entering Kenya and to maintain security. If all these terrorists could just walk into the country as if they were entering into a game park of elephants and giraffes, acquire high calibre AK47 automatic guns/grenades and stage such a spectacular terrorist attack in the capital city, then there is cause for all Kenyans to worry. The country’s Ministry of Internal Security is asleep while NSIS must have gone for an eternal holiday. Is there anybody who can still argue that Kenya is not a failed State?
